Common questions
Straight answers about what Agri-IT does, who we work with, and how farm data gets unstuck.
What does Agri-IT do?
Agri-IT connects, transforms and builds with agricultural data. We help farms and agribusinesses when plans, boundaries, AB lines, prescriptions or as-applied records get stuck between the cab, the office and the next season — and we build small, practical tools when off-the-shelf software won't finish the job.
Who is Agri-IT for?
Farmers and producers (cropping, livestock, poultry, horticulture and mixed operations), agribusinesses, agronomists and advisors, and retailers or service providers who need cleaner handoffs between field work and the systems that are supposed to support it.
What's the difference between "Services" and "Custom Solutions"?
Services is diagnosing and fixing the data path you already have — mapping where data should go, finding the break, converting or reconnecting files and workflows, and supporting the seasonal mess when machines or software change. Custom Solutions is designing and building something new when the product you need doesn't exist and workarounds have stopped working.
Do you replace Operations Center, FarmENGAGE, FieldOps or our FMIS?
No. We work with the systems you already use. The goal is usually a better connection, a cleaner file, or a smaller tool that fits how the job actually gets done — not another platform you have to bend around.
Why does farm data stop moving between systems?
In theory, John Deere Operations Center, PTx FarmENGAGE, FieldOps and your farm management system talk to each other. In practice, something fails mid-path: the wrong format, a missing field, a sync that says it worked, coordinate issues, duplicate jobs, or a USB that still ends up in the glovebox. The value was often there at the source; it gets lost in the handoff.
Can you help with Operations Center, FarmENGAGE, AB lines and prescriptions?
Yes. That's core Services territory: identifying where the handoff breaks, converting and transferring files, and reconnecting workflows so AB lines, boundaries, prescriptions and as-applied data move again between office and cab.
What if the sync says it worked but the machine still can't use the file?
That's a common failure mode. We treat it as a diagnosis problem — format mismatch, missing attributes, unfinished sync, or a display that won't accept what arrived — then fix the file or workflow so the job lands usable in the cab, not just "sent" in the office system.
Do you only work with cropping?
No. Custom work isn't limited to one enterprise type. LandMaps is NSW property context; ChickenSuccess was built for a broiler operation near Tamworth; CropMaker came from a mixed winter-crops enterprise re-keying jobs between Operations Center and FarmENGAGE. If the data problem is real and existing options won't stretch, we'll work across the industry.
When do you build custom software instead of fixing integrations?
When nothing else fits: the platforms won't stretch, workarounds have stopped working, and the gap is the job. We scope the outcome first, then build the smallest useful thing — tools, workflows, dashboards or integrations — shaped around how people already work on farm, in the shed or in the office.
How do we start, and what does working with you look like?
Describe the problem in your own words — the handoff that fails, who it affects, and what you wish worked. Don't worry about explaining the technology. For custom work we typically listen on site (or in the office), agree the outcome, build what fits, and stay close after it lands. Email hello@agri-it.com.au or use the contact form.
Where is Agri-IT based?
Agri-IT is based in NSW 2343, Australia (ABN 24 373 197 993), and works with Australian agriculture. We've done the field work and the systems work — drafting cattle, sitting in spray rigs and harvesters, and years making one system talk to another.
How is Agri-IT different from buying another farm platform?
The answer is rarely another platform. Sometimes it's a better connection. Sometimes a cleaner file. Sometimes a small tool that fits how the job actually gets done. We're interested in useful data from office to paddock — not stacking more screens.
